on Bone Regeneration and
Soft Tissue management around Implants
This course is for young dentists who wish to gain
theoretical knowledge and clinical experience in the field, as well as more senior colleagues
who wish to improve their treatments and keep up with the advances in technology and equipment
which have radically transformed this specialty.
The course is divided into two 3 days-modules
The modules alternate theoretical sessions, which will expand attendees' knowledge of the subject, and live surgery hands-on sessions, which will test attendees’ clinical expertise, under the supervision of Prof. Meloni.
SUBJECTS AND MODULE:
Practical sessions include hands-on, and specific live surgeries with the objective to test the techniques covered in the theoretical sections and learn the new procedures manually.
Attendees can immediately implement the techniques studied upon completing the course.

Prof. Silvio Mario Meloni (DDS, PhD, MS)
Prof. Silvio Meloni is the inventor of the Computer Guided Bone Regeneration technique, a procedure that combines the concept of digital dentistry with a traditional approach to surgery.
He graduated in Dentistry with honors and mention of merit in 2003 at the University of Sassari, in 2008 he obtained a Ph.D. in Preventive Odontostomatology and in 2009 the Master of Science in Oral Surgery at the same University.
In 2012 he completed the gIDE / UCLA One-year Master Clinician Program In Implant Dentistry, at UCLA University, Los Angeles where he was awarded: 1st Place Top Honors in Implant Dentistry.
From 2010 to 2017 he was an adjunct professor and assistant professor of Periodontology and Implantology.
From 2018-2021 he was University Researcher RTDB
Assistant Professor of the aforementioned courses for the degree course in Dentistry at the University of Sassari.
In December 2021 he became Associated Professor at the School of Dentistry, University of Sassari.
In 2013 he obtained, as the first Italian together with prof. Marco Tallarico, the EAO Certificate for fundamental skills and knowledge in implant-based therapy, awarded by the Board of the
European Association for Osseointegration. In 2019 he won the Aesculapius Research Prize, awarded by the University of Florence at the VII Aesculapius Colloquium. He is an international speaker on issues related to implant surgery and the author of several research projects and scientific publications with high-impact factors.
Formerly active member of the Italian Society of Osseointegrated
Implantology, (SIO), an active member of the Italian Academy of Osseointegration (IAO), formerly active Member of the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO Certified), an active member of the Computer Aided Academy (CAI Academy).
He was also the creator of the innovative Computer Guided Bone Regeneration method.
Over the years he has trained several dentists in his courses on implant and regenerative dentistry based on clinical and scientific evidence.
He carries out his activity exclusively focused on research and clinical teaching in Regenerative Implant Surgery, Implant-Prosthesis, Oral Surgery and Periodontology.
